WFE PTA BLOG:
Thank you families for making our Book Fair a great success! You helped us fill the shelves in the library, filled teachers' wish lists, and expanded your personal libraries. We can't thank you enough!
Family literacy night was thrilling! It was great to meet you and share our talents with you. We were so fortunate that Dr. Tim Cherry told us the story of Petite Rouge. He was a delight as always and it was wonderful to be with him. Did you know that Dr. Cherry was the art teacher at Wake Forest Elementary for years before he retired?
Principal Smith and Kenna Covington teamed up to read and illustrate A Camping Spree with Mr. Magee. Please stop by the library where you can see one of Ms. Covington's canvases from the evening! Check out that amazing campfire, made by our very own PTA President, Karen Egan. Thank you Mr. Fields for helping us set up in the gymnasium. We had so much fun!
What's on the horizon?
March 20th - Take Monday off from cooking dinner and come out to Texas Roadhouse with Wake Forest Elementary PTA from 4pm to 10pm! Thank you for joining us for this SPIRIT EVENT! We will have t-shirts and magnets for sale at the restaurant. Come out and show us your Cougar spirit! Our PTA and teachers will be at Texas Roadhouse from 5pm to 8:30pm. We'll see you there!

Spring Fling 2017!
April 21st from 5:30 - 7:30
Mark your calendars for our very fun and always popular - annual Spring Fling!
We are putting together your 2016/2017 Yearbooks. Look for more information going home in Monday folders in May. These are always exciting and highlight our 5th grader's art on both covers!
We don't have a definite date for the EOG's yet, but we do know we'll need help from volunteers to proctor the exam. Don't worry, you won't be delivering the test to students, rather, observing the class to make sure pencils are sharpened and students have their needs met in accordance with the EOG regulations. Please consider helping our teachers and our students with this important part of the end of our school year.
Do you know anyone looking for volunteer hours through their employers? This counts - they just need to be registered.
What are the qualifications?
Make sure you are a registered volunteer with the WCPSS.
How do I do that?
Come to the library on any Monday between now and May and ask Mrs. Lim to help you sign up to be a volunteer.
Oh, I did that last year.
Thank you! This is something that needs to happen every year. The cool thing is that your information will already be in our system, so it's super quick. Thank you!
The last day of school is
Friday, June 9, 2017!
Who is keeping up this blog?
Hey, it's me, Kenna. My kid is in Mrs. Matala's 4th grade class. I'm keeping the blog and website up for the moment. Let me know what you want to see more or less of. I need feedback to make changes. Thank you for participating in the PTA. I believe all of our kids benefit when we pay attention.
