WFE PTA BLOG:
Cue the frowny faces.
Unfortunately, our Square 1 Art shipment will not be here before Thanksgiving as planned. The folks at Square 1 Art apologize for the inconvenience and let us know that we will receive our shipment after our Thanksgiving break. Please be on the look out for you products.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered to sort tomorrow. We'll connect with you and reschedule a time to sort out the Square 1 Art after the break. Thank you!
Do you have time to volunteer on the mornings of December 12 and 16?
If so, we would love to have your energy and attention to collect pledges for Boosterthon. We'll all learn together and have fun helping our school.
Monday, December 12th and Friday, December 16th from 8:30am to 11:30am we will be collecting pledges from our classes and entering them into the Boosterthon system. Please consider joining us for this endeavor. Thank you!
Please email Karen Egan if you are able to help with one or both of these dates.
Please mark your calendars for our upcoming General PTA meeting. This is for parents, teachers, administrators, and anyone with a genuine sense of community at Wake Forest Elementary School. We'll discuss what's going on, what's coming up, and what's concerning you.
Thursday, December 1st at 9:30am
Please contact our PTA President, Karen Egan with any questions or concerns you'd like to be added to the agenda. If you can't make it, let us know. We want to connect with you!
We all have a little envelope, a bag, a junk drawer, something that holds these little cardboard rectangles of good intentions.
Now is the time to send them in!
Let's see how many we can collect.
It doesn't matter if the expiration date has passed. We don't care how you send them, just send them! We'll count them and bundle them and send them off for cash for our school. Thank you so much for collecting these.
Thank you so much for your support!
Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Survey
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is currently working on a draft state plan for implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The state plan will include indicators (factors that have an impact on student and school success) for school quality and student success.
We are interested in hearing from you on what indicators you would like to see included for student quality and student success in the draft state plan.
Please complete this one-question survey by December 1. NCPTA will communicate the top results to the Department of Public Instruction.
Our Boosterthon Pep Rally happens in 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS! Wahoo!
Here is a look at the Star Student Video for Cam the Cougar. You can create your own Star Student Video using your student's picture. We would love to see you share these with us on facebook and twitter!
If you know someone or a group that would like to support our school in our fundraiser, please consider using this link for Cam the Cougar's Pledge Page.
Thank you so much! We are looking forward to a successful fundraiser and lots of fun with our students!
Hello WFE PTA Members!
We will be having a PTA Board Meeting, Thursday November 17, at 4:15pm in the media center. This meeting is for PTA Board members and administration. Members are welcome to attend if they are interested in accepting a PTA Board position in the future.
We will firm up a date for an upcoming PTA meeting for all members. Please be on the look out! Thanks!
PARENTS! To give your child the best educational experience possible, we’re excited to raise funds for new technology--and we’re hosting an Indoor Glow Run to make that happen. Family and friends anywhere in the world can support our school by giving pledges toward the number of laps your student will run on the day of the Fun Runs on Friday, December 9th. Our Fun Run program kicks off on Tuesday, November 29th.
Plus, leading up to the Fun Run, students will learn how to make a difference in their world through an unbelievable character theme, Backyard Box Office.
HELP WFES IN 3 STEPS!
1. Register on FUNRUN.COM using our school code: 477-456.
2. Connect to sponsors—friends and family who can donate to help our school.
3. Cheer on your child at the Glow Run!
Be on the lookout for this Pledgebook with more details.
THANKS IN ADVANCE, PARENTS!
Who is keeping up this blog?
Hey, it's me, Kenna. My kid is in Mrs. Matala's 4th grade class. I'm keeping the blog and website up for the moment. Let me know what you want to see more or less of. I need feedback to make changes. Thank you for participating in the PTA. I believe all of our kids benefit when we pay attention.
